Seal Tour
The seals are familiar with the blue silhouette of De Vriendschap, so as we drift along the sandbanks, we can get very close to them. And if they’re in the mood, they might even swim alongside us!

Day Trip
Visit our island neighbors! After crossing with De Vriendschap, hop on your rented bike and discover the differences between Texel and Vlieland. At the end of the day, sail back home, tired but satisfied.

One-Way Trip
For island hoppers, we offer a one-way trip—to Vlieland or the other way around, to Texel. A wonderful adventure! With or without your own bike.

Wadden Excursion
During the seal tour, we leave the sandbanks to the seals, but on the Wadden excursion, we go ashore! Standing on the seabed of the Wadden Sea is a unique experience.

Between Texel and Vlieland
De Vriendschap is the only passenger ship sailing in a unique part of the Wadden Sea: the Eierlandse Gat. This sea passage between Texel and Vlieland is both famous and notorious among sailors. Treacherous waters, strong currents, and an ever-changing coastline make it a fascinating part of the sea.
Our experienced skippers know these channels like the back of their hands. Whether they’re taking you across or on a seal tour, they know the most beautiful spots on the Wadden Sea

Special: Evening Cruise
Evening peace on the Wadden Sea—an indescribable experience! Don’t miss the chance to witness it yourself. We only sail the evening cruise in good weather. With a bit of luck, you’ll see the sun setting behind the dunes and the lighthouse on the way back.
About Us

Post Barge
"In the old days," mail for Vlieland was transported via Texel along the Postweg by post barge, then carried by horse and cart to het Posthuys.

TESO
In 1947, TESO bought an old fishing boat. After modifications, it operated a ferry service between the two Wadden Islands until 1963.

De Vriendschap
When the channel to Vlieland became navigable again and tourism had grown, Sil and Janka took the leap in 1983, purchasing De Vriendschap and reopening the ferry route.

New Captain
In 2016, Dirk-Albert Blom took over De Vriendschap from Janka. After over 35 years of shrimp fishing in the Wadden Sea, this experienced skipper knows the area inside out.

A New Ship!
After a major refurbishment, a former mussel boat was put into service in 2020. This new vessel is perfect for navigating the shallow waters between Texel and Vlieland.
